ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills) - Standardized Testing

St. Mary School provides a comprehensive testing program to ensure a constant evaluation of pupil progress. Evaluation and on-going assessment enables administration and staff to monitor implementation of academic standards and resources to continually increase student growth.
  • ITBS Achievement tests are administered in Grades 1-8 in the Fall
  • ITBS CogAT ability tests are administered in Grades 3,5, and 7 in the Fall

Once test scoring has been completed, results are sent back to the school for review. A parent report is provided and distributed to parents for each child, upon attendance at the Parent-Teacher Conferences (generally held at the end of Nov/Dec). Parents who do not attend the conference are expected to schedule an appointment with their child's teacher to discuss and pick-up the testing documents.

Scores are not published through HeadMaster Online, as this program is strictly for grading entered by the teacher, and is not associated with the ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills program, which is organized in collaboration with the Los Angeles Archdiocese and Riverside Publishing).
