**FEBRUARY LUNCH MENU IS NOW AVAILABLE - PLEASE SUBMIT WITH PAYMENT BY JANUARY 25- THANK YOU**
Yearbook Advertisement Orders Now Being Accepted!: Parents and family members are encouraged to recognize 8th Grade Graduates, 1st Communicants, or academic/sport achievements with a congratulatory advertisement in our school yearbook. Order forms are available for download under the "Events & Activities" tab above. Prices vary depending upon ad size. Please see form for pricing and submission requirements. Deadline to submit ad orders was December 15, 2011; however due to the small amount of ads placed we must extend the deadline until January 31. The funds to produce the yearbook is dependent upon the number of ads placed, as this money offsets the schools cost. Without ads we may not be able to continue producing a school annual. To ease the financial strain during this holiday season, payments for ads can be made in two installments, a deposit of half the cost of your ad selection is required at the time order is placed, with the balance due no later than March 30th. Please note, full payment must be received by deadline or ad publishing may be withdrawn. Please see Mrs. French to make arrangements.
Attendance Office Reminder: Parents, please remember to notify the school office of your child's absence by 9:00am. Additionally, please be sure to send written notification explaining the absence, the day your child returns to school. To clarify, as stated in our school handbook, tardies or absences related to medical or dental appointments must be verified with a medical note from the doctors office in order to be excused and/or not receive a demerit.
Volunteer Requirements: ALL adults who wish to volunteer in classrooms, field trips, cafeteria, retreats, coaching, at events, in the presence of children or in any other capacity are REQUIRED to complete Virtus Training and Fingerprinting as per Saint Mary's School policy. A copy of the Virtus certificate and fingerprinting receipt must be submitted to the office for our records. Virtus Training certification MUST be renewed every 4 years. Fingerprinting is a one-time only requirement, please keep in mind verification of clearance from the Archdiocese does take time. A photo ID is also now required to be worn by volunteers while on campus. Please schedule an appointment for your photograph to be taken with the school office. ID badges will be held in the school office and remain the property of Saint Mary School. Please check with the office if you are unsure if you have met the requirement.
Important Fundraiser: With today's technology many of us avoid the chaos and long lines of malls and department stores by shopping online. By joining www.SchoolStore.net, families can shop online and raise money for the Saint Mary Tuition Assistance Program. Companies like Sears, Target, Kohl's, Toys 'R' Us and Office Depot all participate in www.SchoolStore.com. All it takes is registering online with our school ID # 117562. Thank you for supporting our inhouse scholarship program.
Family Envelopes: Please note beginning with the 2011-12 school year Saint Mary will no longer send home a monthly family envelope. Instead, all communication regarding announcements, calendars, lunch menu's, registration, sports information, 8th Grade News, yearbooks, upcoming events and principal newsletters will be available on our website.

Effective 2011-2012
Academic School Year:
All students entering 7th Grade or 8th Grade, will be required to have theTdap Booster vaccine for Pertussis (Whooping Cough). An updated copy of your child's Immunization Card is required at the time of enrollment for the Fall.
** VERIFICATION IS DUE AT ENROLLMENT. ABSENCE OF VERIFICATION WILL RESULT IN ATTENDANCE BEING INTERUPTED. PLEASE PROVIDE VERIFICATION WITH ALL REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS**
The California Health Department has issued the following statement as of 11-17-2010:
"Pertussis is widespread. If your child 10 years and older has not yet received the "Tdap" pertussis booster shot, please contact your doctor or health department. Getting a booster shot now will protect your child against the on-going threat of pertussis and meet a new school requirement that begins the 2011-2012 school year (California Law - Assembly Bill 354).
Adults are also advised to get a pertussis booster shot, if they haven't already, to protect themselves, their families, and their students."
Parents may access the California Department of Public Health website via the following link to obtain additional information regarding this newly implemented requirement:
