Saint Mary School: 1st Grade - Ms. Leslie Zamora

Hi, I’m Ms. Leslie Zamora – First Grade Teacher at St. Mary’s School

I’m so excited to be joining the St. Mary’s School community as the first grade teacher! Teaching young learners is truly my passion, and I feel incredibly grateful to be part of a school that values both academic growth and the development of the whole child.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development from California State University, Northridge. I also hold an Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education, an Associate of Arts in Child Development, and an Associate of Arts in General Studies: Social and Behavioral Sciences. Additionally, I hold a Certificate in Child Development and a Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

I’ve been teaching for four years now, and before stepping into the classroom, I worked as a tutor for elementary-aged children and as a case manager supporting kids who were struggling with their mental health. Those experiences deeply shaped the way I approach teaching—with empathy, patience, and a commitment to helping every child feel safe and seen.

Outside of school, I enjoy running half marathons, spending time at Disneyland, and visiting zoos and aquariums. I love bringing that same sense of adventure and curiosity into my teaching, finding creative ways to make each day feel exciting and meaningful for my students.
