Butterflies

At Saint Mary School, teachers try to make learning engaging and fun. This Spring our Early TK and TK students learned about the butterfly life cycle in Science, English Language Arts, Religion, and Art. This cross-curricular unit allows students to make connections across various subjects while understanding that we must all take care of God's creations. Throughout the unit, students observed how real butterfly eggs turn into caterpillars, chrysalis, and finally butterflies.  Students then released their butterflies so they can fly away and live in their natural habitat. What an amazing way to learn!
