WASC

In the Spring of 2026, Saint Mary School participated in the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) accreditation process. The purpose of the accreditation process is to evaluate and improve Catholic Schools across the nation. During the year-long self-study process, the school reviewed, analyzed, and reflected on student achievement data, curriculum rigor, instructional methodology, financial/resource management, faith formation, and community involvement/communication. The school presented to the visiting committee a self-study document that includes long-term schoolwide action plans for continuous improvement. The committee reviewed the school's findings, observed classrooms, met with staff, student representatives, and parent representatives, and evaluated our school program. After thoughtful consideration, the committee recommended a full six-year term of accreditation to the WASC/WCEA commissioners, which was approved this summer. We are pleased to announce that St. Mary School is fully accredited by WASC/WCEA. We are thrilled that the committee was able to see the hard work and dedication of our community members. Saint Mary School is committed to supporting our students and families and, through this process, has identified the following priorities for continued growth:

  • Priority #1: Expand faith formation opportunities for families and staff to strengthen Catholic identity and the home-school-parish partnership.

  • Priority #2: As part of the school’s shared leadership, which includes a Leadership Team, Parent-Teacher Organization, and Room Parent Group, St. Mary’s will create and train an Advisory Council to support in addressing the needs of the school community.

  • Priority #3: Strengthen professional collaboration, learning, and data-driven instruction.

  • Priority #4: Expand the school's social-emotional support systems made available to students, staff, and families.
