Catholic Schools Week

During Catholic Schools Week (CSW) we celebrate the good work and positive social impact Catholic Schools make in their communities. From January 30 – February 5, 2022, St. Mary's celebrates Catholic Schools Week. This usually serves as the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. Schools typically observe the week with Masses, assemblies, and other activities for students, families, parishioners, and community members to celebrate and congratulate the great work and good news of Catholic schools. With 5,981 Catholic Schools across the U.S.A, there is a lot to celebrate!

The CSW theme is "Catholic Schools: Faith, Excellence, and Service." Catholic schools have a specific purpose to form students to be good citizens of the world, love God and neighbor, and enrich society with the leaven of the gospel and by the example of faith. Academic excellence is the hallmark of Catholic education intentionally directed to the growth of the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. Finally, service is fundamental to Catholic education and the core of Catholic discipleship. Service is intended to help form people who are not only witnesses to Catholic social teaching but also active participants through social learning (from ncea.org/csw).

Saint Mary School usually celebrates Catholic Schools Week but since many of our students are participating in the distance learning modality due to COVID, we will celebrate once everyone has returned to campus (TBA). We previously announced an Open House on January 30, 2022. Due to the rise in COVID cases, the school has postponed this event. Once a new date has been established, we will announce it to the community. If parents are interested in applying for enrollment for this school year or the next school year, please call the office at 661-273-5555 to schedule a meeting and take a tour of the school. Applications are accepted year-round and tuition assistance is available year-round as well.
